Hi guys,
This thread is for discussions regarding the Elite Encounters RPG project. Feel free to post comments (positive and negative, as long as they're constructive and aren't rude...) about the system, suggest additions/alterations/deletions and discuss your own contributions.

Any help will be appreciated.

I've done a little work on converting the rules over to the main HughesD site wiki - use OpenOffice 3, which can convert text to Wiki style text.

The plan is to migrate the OpenWiki content back over to this wiki now (ironic, since I had to migrate the original Wiki content to OpenWiki in the first place). This is cos OpenWiki is a bit flaky.

  +++Update+++

Just to let you guys know, the Wiki has successfully been migrated (after many f..mistakes by yours truly ) from the old OpenWiki site. The new front page (at present) is here so by all means, have a look, have a think and get contributing. Any and all suggestions and assistance would be welcomed. If you need help or advice that isn't presented in the Wiki's help files, post in this thread and Selezen and myself will endeavour to help.
Remember, it's your site, so get involved!

Okay, So I'm needing some help, advice or input here. I'm trying (failing) to make nice coded tables to replace the nice gifs that Selezen used for the Armour stats. So far I managed to write this:

{| border="1" cellpadding="5" cellspacing="0" align="center"
|+'''Tech-Level 1 Armour'''||
|-
|style="background:black"|
|colspan="4"| Absorb Values || MODS ||
|-
|style="background:black" | s
| HEAD || BODY || ARMS || LEGS || - ||
|-
|| H || 0 || 2 || 1 || 0 || - ||
|-
|| S || 0 || 0 || 0 || 0 || - ||
|-
|| Cost || 500 || TYPE ||
|colspan="3"| Projectile ||
|}

which comes out looking like this:

Tech-Level 1 Armour

Absorb Values MODS
s
HEAD BODY ARMS LEGS -
H 0 2 1 0 -
S 0 0 0 0 -
Cost 500 TYPE
Projectile

Now, I think it's okay, but I really want to lose the black boxes over the H and S boxes and as for what happened at the opposite end is anyone's guess. Can anyone with better MediaWiki-Fu offer any advice/fixes?

Try this:

{| border="1" cellpadding="5" cellspacing="0" align="center"
|+'''Tech-Level 1 Armour'''||
|-
|colspan="5"| Absorb Values || MODS
|-
| || HEAD || BODY || ARMS || LEGS || --
|-
|| H || 0 || 2 || 1 || 0 || --
|-
|| S || 0 || 0 || 0 || 0 || --
|-
|| Cost || 500 || || TYPE
|colspan="2"| Projectile
|}

which looks like:

Tech-Level 1 Armour
Absorb Values MODS
HEAD BODY ARMS LEGS --
H 0 2 1 0 --
S 0 0 0 0 --
Cost 500 TYPE
Projectile

I'll let you work out how to do it by looking a the differences!

Oddly, I had managed to make a table that looked exatly the same as the gif images in the original EE wiki, but no idea how I did it.

Oh, and a good tip for anyone trying to work out how to write MediWiki pages is to install and use OpenOffice 3 - it allows xport of documents into Wiki format. Draw your table then export it and nick the code! Woohoo!
